What We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to fulfill and communicate about your order:

Name, email address, phone number
Delivery address (for delivery orders only)
Order details and special requests

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

Fulfill your order
Communicate with you about your order
Send order confirmations and updates

Data Storage & Security

Your information is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS). We never sell your information. We share it only with the services that run this website and process card payments (AWS and Square), and only as needed to handle your order. We keep order records as long as required for tax and business purposes.

Accounts & Browser Storage

If you create an account, sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito and we never see your password. Your cart and any promo code you apply are saved in your own browser so they aren't lost between pages. We don't use advertising trackers.

Your Rights

You can ask us to delete your account and personal information at any time; we'll remove everything except the order records we're required to keep. Contact us at hello@takemetoelysium.com with data deletion requests.

Ordering & Cancellations

Order Confirmation

All online orders are requests until confirmed by us. We review each order for availability and will confirm by email within 1–2 days.

Cancellations & Changes

Standard orders: Free cancellation or changes before baking begins (typically 1-2 days before fulfillment date).
Custom cakes: We may ask for a 50% deposit to hold your date. If you cancel more than 7 days before your event, we'll refund half of what you've paid. Within 7 days of the event, payments are non-refundable because ingredients and decorations are already prepared.

Lead Times

Standard items: 3 days minimum
Custom cakes: 14 days minimum

Payment

We accept two payment methods:

Credit or debit card through a secure Square payment link (or in person with Square at pickup)
Cash at pickup or delivery

Payment is due before or at fulfillment. For large orders or custom cakes, we may require a 50% deposit.

Card Security: All card transactions are processed by Square. We never see or store your card details.

Promotions & Promo Codes

One promo code or promo link per order. Promotions can't be combined, have no cash value, and apply only to the items, dates, and limits listed with the offer. Discounts are applied to our listed prices; for items priced "from", the discount is based on the starting price. We may end a promotion early once its limit is reached.

Allergens & Food Safety

Shared Kitchen

All products are made in a home kitchen that handles wheat, milk, eggs, soy, peanuts, and tree nuts. Cross-contamination is possible even when an allergen is not listed as an ingredient.

Allergen Information

Every product is labeled with a complete ingredient list and common allergens. If you have severe allergies, please contact us before ordering.

Dietary Restrictions

We currently cannot guarantee allergen-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan products due to our shared kitchen environment.

Ohio Cottage Food Law

Take Me To Elysium Baked Goods operates under Ohio's cottage food law, which allows home-based production of certain non-potentially-hazardous foods.

Products are produced under Ohio's cottage food law and labeled 'This product is home produced.'

We can only produce shelf-stable items (cookies, cakes with buttercream, certain frostings). Products requiring refrigeration (cream cheese frosting, custards, fresh cream) are not permitted under cottage food rules.

Ohio only: Cottage foods may be sold only within Ohio, so all pickups and deliveries take place in Ohio.

Delivery Area

Pickup: Available by appointment in Brimfield, Ohio.
Delivery: Within about 30 minutes of Brimfield, delivery is free on orders of $30 or more and $5 on smaller orders. Farther delivery within Ohio is available for an extra fee, which we'll quote when we confirm your order.
Markets: Occasionally available at local farmers markets (see Events).

Out-of-State: Due to Ohio cottage food law, we cannot ship or deliver outside of Ohio.
